• Beginners Beginners classes are available as a 6-week course. This Beginners Course must be completed before attending any other classes at Sadhana.

  • Relax and Restore This is a 1-hour relaxation class every Friday evening. No previous yoga experience is necessary and all are welcome to attend.

  • Worrier to Warrior – This is a continuing Yoga course for students who have completed the 6 week Beginners Course. See timetable for class times.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is by no means a new thing. As Sri T. Krishnamacharya has said, yoga must be adapted to suit the individual, so that individual imbalances and specific health issues or injuries are taken into consideration.

Many therapies are aimed at fixing a symptom but Yoga Therapy looks at the cause. With one-on-one attention, Yoga Therapy will help you to understand the effect that your current habits (such as sitting all day) may be having on your respiratory, digestive, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems. With this awareness and knowledge, positive change can be realised.

Yoga Therapy at Sadhana focusses on removing stress from the body and mind. The aim is to empower people to become content and relaxed in their everyday lives: You can’t be content unless you are relaxed, and you can’t be relaxed unless you are content.

In your one-on-one Yoga Therapy session, you will work on creating a clear mind, calm breath and relaxed body. The ultimate aim is that you will keep these things with you when you leave the yoga room, and gradually develop awareness of the things in your everyday life that busy the mind, disturb the breath and create tension in your body.  

With this awareness, you will have the power to make the positive changes that allow you to move well, breathe well, sleep well and eat well.

Whether you attend one-on-one Yoga Therapy or other yoga classes at Sadhana, each of the following steps will be adapted to your specific needs:
